IN THE FALL, AN OLD GIRL'S FANCY TURNS TO....DECORATING!

After my disappointment over not being able to go to Woman Song, I decided to go out and about in Bismarck today. All the shops are full of fall decorations, which put me in an autumnal mood. (And once I get over my grief every year at the flowers dying, I can embrace fall.)

Today I found myself an Autumn "Green Man", or whatever he would be called. I just really liked his expression. It's not a very good image, as I could not fit all of him on the scanner.

I also found a little someone who would be perfect to add to my next giftaway. I am approaching my 200th post, and when I do hit that number I will advertise a giftaway of autumn- and Halloween-themed items. I can't wait to show what else I found too, so I guess I will be writing a lot of posts in the next couple of weeks! P. S. I'm keeping this little fairy's sister (seated) for myself!

So sorry WomanSong got spoiled for you. These decorations are wonderful. I love the seasonal changes that so many Americans make in their decor. I do Christmas, and that's all. If I see something autumnal, maybe I'll pick it up this week. (TK Maxx, here I come!)

Hi, Julie Marie here.

My autumn green man just says "Made in China" on the back. I bought him at Cracker Barrel, if you are near one or know someone who is.

What a shame that your WomanSong was ruined by the rain - hopefully there'll be another chance to go to something similar.
I'm hoping to return from the US with some autumnal decorations - I'm staying with my friends in New Hampshire and I believe there's a trip to Rhode Island and hopefully Cape Cod planned among other things. The other things will include Plimoth Plantation if all my heavy hints have been noticed:)

Hello Julie - I've found you via Rowan, one of my favorite blogs. I'm now enjoying reading about you and your varied interests, many of which are mine also. I'm English and my dh is of Irish descent - I especially love Celtic music.

Have you been to a Loreena McKennitt concert? I went this Spring in Asheville, NC for "Nights from the Alhambra". It is truly the most memorable musical event I've ever attended. I had always loved her music and then seeing her live, with her amazing band, was just awesome.

I see you have much to share with those of us who love the written word, Nature, beauty and traditions. I will return often.

Love your green man. What a jolly smile. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Oh, and I think I have your autumn fairy's springtime sister at my house. They would have so much fun playing together.

I am so sorry that you aren't able to go to the Woman Song. My suggestion for you - take a long walk alone in a nearby forest and sing, sing, sing.......

Julie,
Enjoyed reading your all of your recent posts.
It seems signicant that more white buffalos are being born.
Your poem about missing your Womansong is delightful even though I feel your pain.Especially since you had been looking forward to it.
At least you were able to soothe your self with some awesome fall treasures.
