MEET MARLEY

It's official. I have changed Gracie's name to Marley, after that naughty dog of the book and movie fame.
I was going to re-name her a few weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. I had shut her up in the kitchen so that I could get in a nap without her scratching at the bedroom door. No sooner had I dozed off, it seems, than I could hear her scuffling around the door. I thought maybe she had at last gotten over the baby gate (previously she had gotten herself hung up on the gate, half on one side and half on the other). But no, not that. Instead, she had chewed off both ends of one of the wooden posts of the gate and managed to squeeze herself through.
But this evening, she finally, truly earned the designation. Gracie - and Penny when she was alive - had the habit of barking at people when they walk by on the sidewalk. Gracie always goes a step further and races to the bedroom to get a further look at the "trespassers" as they get past our arbor. Just before 7 p.m. this evening it was still light out and Gracie was perched on a chair before the living room windows, this being her guard post. Someone walked by and Gracie barked like crazy, as usual, then launched herself into the air, as usual, prepared to race to the bedroom.
The only thing is, this time she caught her back foot in the cord to raise and lower the blind. The entire blind was torn off and trailed behind her as she ran. It scared the beejeezus out of her. The look on her face was hilarious. I was laughing so hard I couldn't scold her, even when Dan told me the top of the blind is broken and he may not be able to re-install it.
So, meet Marley II, maybe the second most destructive dog in the world (second only because she hasn't chewed up any walls yet).

What a hilarious story - hope she wasn't scared too bad - and hope the blind is fixable.

I know I shouldn't laugh, but if our own children did this, they'd be grounded - what can you do to a dog? Especially when they look at us with those big eyes - our hearts melt! No so with the kids! HAHAHA! I love Gracie and I know she's a lot like our Lulu. As Mr. B says, "good thing she's so good lookin' -cause she's a real pain.."

Poor Gracie, umm, I mean Marley 11.
They certainly can get there selves in a lot of trouble. Charli is like that too. Your little sweetie is just adorable!

And she looks so very innocent too:) My old lurcher used to get away with murder because he looked so 'butter wouldn't melt' when he'd been naughty. I just had to laugh even when I'd intended yelling at him.

I know we're not supposed to laugh, but I admit I did. Bless her sweet little heart!

I loved this Dog's tail....Marley is a really fun name and if the shoe fit's! She is really pretty. My worst story is about my Mattie Anne, you have seen her in pictures just a few days ago.
I always put my glasses next to my bed...I woke to find my glasses on the floor in so many pieces it was just hard to believe. So here I am without glasses, called my work and told them that my dog ate my glasses. Just one of many things she did while a pup!
Big Hugs, Mary

Marley is so cute, nothing like a dog to keep your life alive. Giving Garak a hug he not like that, well he does still have time.

that is such a funny story, they do have a habit of causing much merriment these dogs of ours do they not. our very own coco is a terror for pinching laundry, socks especially!! he had me in stitches just the other day, somehow he had managed to get in a knot with a pair of tights & shackled his back legs together, he was not happy and kept trying to run away from said article, just making it worse, it made me laugh even more. poor soul.

ps thank you for sharing your precious things. when we nearly lose someone close to us it makes them even more precious doesn't it. so glad you like my banners too, i wasn't too sure to start with. Happy easter Julie x x

Your imp Marley brings to mind our Sadie, a deceptively small Beagle with soulful eyes and wood-chipping teeth. We once left her in her doggie crate, safely secured in a bathroom to prevent mischief while we went grocery shopping. We came home to find Sadie chewing her way through the bathroom door. And she would have made it if we were away just a bit longer! How she got out of her crate remains a mystery!
A cute puppy face covers a multitude of sins!
