HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?

So, how would YOU feel, if you called your husband this morning and told him you were in a car accident, and he asked, "How bad is it?" Meaning THE CAR!!!! No, he did not ask "How are you?"

THIS IS HOW I FEEL
**********
In case you're wondering, I'm okay, the high school kid who hit me is okay, his car is fine, my car - my sweet, reliable, starts in cold weather used car - has a big dent in the front, my license plate was tossed on the ground and my left front headlight was shattered.
I was able to drive it the rest of the way to work, so I thought everything was okay, but at 5:00 it wouldn't start. Gawd, I hope it's just the battery.

I got a ride home and called my husband so he can deal with it. I've had way too much fun for one person for one day.

  1. Oh, no!! Men!! Isn't that just typical to worry about the car and not the wife!! But at least you weren't injured and that's the good news.

You're right to let him deal with it now. I don't think I'd want to be in your hubby's shoes when he gets home tonight!!

  2. So sorry you experienced that. I'm glad you're ok, but it's always a shock to be involved in an accident.

I'm just catching up after a few days absence. Loved the meme and your photos of the picture and doll from Lila. Did you know today is Brigid's day? She had warrior-spirit, but I also like that someone says the doll is Epona. I had her as a cover on one of my journals last year. Very powerful.

  3. Yes! Let him deal with it!
(even if he said the wrong thing, at least he is there to deal with it. I have several single friends and they are dealing with these things on their own.)
Hope you have a better weekend than your Friday has been!

  4. Oh dear, I'm so glad that you are safe and home again!!! Car accidents are so scary, I was in one too a couple of years ago and it leaves one shaken up pretty good. Typical man, asking how the car is instead of how you are...don't you just wanna smack them sometimes? lol Hugs xoxo

I am glad you are okay! Men are such idiots sometimes. But they are all the same. The grass is never greener on the other side!

Maybe he'll make it up to you now!!!

  6. Oh wow, I'm glad your ok. I hope the car is not damaged to much. As for the hubby, just smack him with a pillow and tell him go sleep on the couch lol.

  7. Oh those rotten teenagers with poor driving skills!! I drive my daughter to and from high school every day and barely get out of the parking lot with all those teen drivers.

I hope you don't wake up sore or stiff tomorrow...but that husband of yours! You handled yourself like a pro ~ much better than I would have.

I used to sign in as "Storms and Rainbows...Patricia" but have a new and improved blog up and running. Still lurking!

  9. Oh Julie I hope you're ok and you don't end up with awful whiplash,it can make your neck ptetty damn sore!I too had a car accident several years ago, badly hurt my knee, whacked my head and ended up in a neck brace and after an operation on crutches, and guess what! my husband never asked how I was and did't lift a finger,he was quite happy to see me trying to hoover whilst balancing on one crutch, luckily my girls just took over I don't know what i'd have done without them!I was months before I was better, the marriage was already on the rocks,he just took it a stage further!I'm not a violent person but I could have smacked him one,so I think your husband has got some grovelling to do lol !love from Kathyann and the girls

  13. Oh gosh Julie! I'm glad that you're ok, and that the young person involved is too.
You know, I've learned to look at a man's actions, not his words, to judge his feelings. Personally, I think most of them are pretty great. I know a lot of them sacrifice an awful lot of who they are, and what they'd truly like to be doing, to make us happy and to provide a good life for their families. I think your husband must be a pretty great guy too. I can't see you, settling for anything less.

    Take care.
