"WINTER GIFT" by Julia Helen Jeffrey
*********
I am the Christmas Spirit
That comes with the end of December:
A winter solstice spell, perhaps,
When people forget to remember –
The drab realities of fact,
The cherished hurt of ancient wrongs,
The lonely comfort of being deaf
To human sighs and angel’s songs.
Suddenly, they lose their minds
To heart’s demands and beauty’s grace;
And deeds extravagant with love
Give glory to the common place.
--Anthony F. Perrino
merry Christmas Julie, I hope you are warm and loved on this cold December day. That you have decorated and are snuggled with a wonderful book enjoying a story from a great author.
ReplyDeleteJoy always, Mary
This is very beautiful..both card and verse. Also it is very different, which is probably why I like it so much. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, Julie!!
ReplyDeleteI love the cheerful little robin bringing the Christmas gift!
I hope you have a good cheerful Christmas!
We are happy to be having our childrem come here this year...because Mom lives with us and can't travel.
[I'm trying not to get too carried away!]
Very beautiful! The illustration goes so well with the text.
